Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Switzerland defeats San Marino 7-0
ST. GALLEN, Oct. 9, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Switzerland defeated San Marino by a big score of 7-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Friday night.
Switzerland dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by defender Michael Lang in the 17th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Swisss further widened their lead in the second period by scoring six times (Inler '55/penalty, Mehmedi '65, Djourou '72/penalty, Kasami '75, Embolo '80/penalty and Derdiyok '89).
The result put the Swiss second in Group E with 18 points. San Marino is bottom with one point. In their last game, Switzerland will meet Estonia on October 12, while San Marino will face Slovenia.
