Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Finland beats Faroe islands 3-1
TóRSHAVN, Sep. 7, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Finland defeated the Faroe islands by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Sunday night at the Torsvollur Stadium in Tórshavn.
Riski scored dual goals
The Faroe islands had started off well by taking the lead in the 41st minute with a goal by Holst. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the Finnishs nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring three times in the second period (Riski '53, '78 and R. Eremenko '82).
The result put the Finnish top of Group F with 3 points. In their next game, Finland will meet Greece at the Torsvollur Stadium on October 11, while the Faroe islands will face Northern Ireland.
