BELFAST, Oct. 11, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Northern Ireland defeated the Faroe islands by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Saturday night at Windsor Park in Belfast.
All the action happened in the first half, with goals from Gareth McAuley ('6) and Kyle Lafferty ('20).
The result put the Irish top of Group F with 6 points. The Faroe islands is bottom with no points. In their next game, Northern Ireland will meet Greece at Windsor Park on October 14, while the Faroe islands will face Hungary.
