ATHENS, Nov. 14, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : The Faroe islands defeated Greece by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Friday night at the Karaiskakis Stadium in Athens.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Edmundsson in the 61st minute.
The result put the Faroese 5th in Group F with 3 points. Greece is bottom with one point. In their next game, the Faroe islands will meet group leaders Romania at the Karaiskakis Stadium on March 29, while Greece will face Hungary.
