BUCHAREST, Nov. 14, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Romania defeated Northern Ireland by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Friday night at the National Arena in Bucharest.
Papp scored dual goals
45 minutes of play and neither the Romanians nor the Irishs have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with two goals by Papp at '74 and '79.
The result put the Romanians top of Group F with 10 points. Northern Ireland is second with 9 points. In their next game, Romania will meet the Faroe islands at the National Arena on March 29, while Northern Ireland will face Finland.
