Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Faroe islands beats Greece 2-1
TóRSHAVN, Jun. 13, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : The Faroe islands defeated Greece by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Saturday night at the Torsvollur Stadium in Tórshavn.
The Faroe islands dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Hansson in the 32nd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Faroeses further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by B. Olsen in the 70th minute.
The result put the Faroese fourth in Group F with 6 points. Greece is bottom with 2 points. In their next game, the Faroe islands will meet second-placed Northern Ireland at the Torsvollur Stadium on September 4, while Greece will face Finland.
