ATHENS, Sep. 4, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Finland defeated Greece by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Friday night at the Karaiskakis Stadium in Athens.
Greece made the Finnishs doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Finnish forward Joel Pohjanpalo in the 75th minute.
The result put the Finnish fourth in Group F with 7 points. Greece is bottom with 2 points. In their next game, Finland will meet the Faroe islands at the Karaiskakis Stadium on September 7, while Greece will face Romania.
