BERLIN, Sep. 7, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Finland defeated the Faroe islands by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Monday night at the Berlin Olympic Stadium.
All the action happened in the first half, with Finnish striker Joel Pohjanpalo goal in the 23rd minute.
The result put the Finnish fourth in Group F with 10 points. The Faroe islands is 5th with 6 points. In their next game, Finland will meet second-placed Romania at the Berlin Olympic Stadium on October 8, while the Faroe islands will face Hungary.
