Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Northern Ireland beats Greece 3-1
BELFAST, Oct. 8, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Northern Ireland defeated Greece by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Thursday night at Windsor Park in Belfast.
Steven Davis scored dual goals
Northern Ireland dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by English midfielder Steven Davis in the 35th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Irishs further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Magennis '49 and Davis '58).
The result put the Irish top of Group F with 20 points. Greece is bottom with 3 points. In their last game, Northern Ireland will meet Finland at Windsor Park on October 11, while Greece will face Hungary.
