Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Russia beats Liechtenstein 4-0
KHIMKI, Sep. 8, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Russia defeated Liechtenstein by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Monday night at the Khimki Arena.
Russia dominated the first half as a result of the unfortunate own goal scored by M. Büchel in the 4th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Russians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Burgmeier '50/own, Kombarov '54/penalty and Dzyuba '65).
The result put the Russians top of Group G with 3 points. In their next game, Russia will meet Sweden at the Khimki Arena on October 9, while Liechtenstein will face Montenegro.
