Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Austria beats Moldova 2-1
CHISINAU, Oct. 9, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Austria defeated Moldova by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Thursday night at the Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau.
Austrian midfielder David Alaba opened the score in the 12th minute on penalty, before seeing Moldova catch up in the 27th minute thanks to Dedov penalty kick. 1-1 at half time. The Austrians eventually won the game in the second period with with a goal by Janko in the 51st minute.
The result put the Austrians third in Group G with 4 points. Moldova is bottom with no points. In their next game, Austria will meet second-placed Montenegro at the Zimbru Stadium on October 12, while Moldova will face Russia.
