Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Austria beats Russia 1-0
VIENNA, Nov. 15, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Austria defeated Russia by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Saturday night at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Austrian forward Rubin Okotie in the 73rd minute.
The result put the Austrians top of Group G with 10 points. Russia is second with 5 points. In their next game, Austria will meet Liechtenstein at the Ernst Happel Stadium on March 27, while Russia will face Montenegro.
