Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Montenegro draw 1-1 with Sweden
PODGORICA, Nov. 15, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Montenegro tied 1-1 with Sweden (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Saturday night at the Podgorica City Stadium.
The Swedishs started off well by taking the lead thanks to Swedish forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the 9th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Montenegro with a saving goal from Montenegrin forward Stevan Jovetić on penalty in the 80th minute.
The result put the Swedish second in Group G with 6 points. Montenegro is fourth with 5 points. In their next game, Sweden will meet Moldova at the Podgorica City Stadium on March 27, while Montenegro will face Russia.
