VIENNA, Sep. 5, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Austria defeated Moldova by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Saturday night at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna.
Moldova made the Austrians doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Austrian midfielder Zlatko Junuzović in the 52nd minute.
The result put the Austrians top of Group G with 19 points. Moldova is bottom with 2 points. In their next game, Austria will meet second-placed Sweden at the Ernst Happel Stadium on September 8, while Moldova will face Montenegro.
