Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Montenegro beats Moldova 2-0
CHISINAU, Sep. 8, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Montenegro defeated Moldova by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Tuesday night at the Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau.
Montenegro dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by defender Stefan Savić in the 9th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Montenegrins further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Racu into his own net in the 65th minute.
The result put the Montenegrins third in Group G with 12 points. Moldova is bottom with 2 points. In their next game, Montenegro will meet group leaders Austria at the Zimbru Stadium on October 9, while Moldova will face Russia.
