Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Austria defeats Montenegro 3-2
PODGORICA, Oct. 9, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Austria defeated Montenegro by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Friday night at the Podgorica City Stadium.
Montenegro had started off well by taking the lead in the 32nd minute with a goal by forward Vučinić. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the Austrians nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring three times in the second period (Janko '55, Arnautović '81 and Sabitzer '90).
The result put the Austrians top of Group G with 25 points. Montenegro is fourth with 12 points. In their last game, Austria will meet Liechtenstein at the Podgorica City Stadium on October 12, while Montenegro will face Russia.
