Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Bulgaria and Malta play to a 1-1 draw
SOFIA, Nov. 16, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Bulgaria tied 1-1 with Malta (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Sunday night at the Vasil Levski National Stadium in Sofia.
The Bulgarians started off well by taking the lead thanks to Galabinov in the 6th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Malta with a saving goal from Failla on penalty in the 49th minute.
The result put the Bulgarians fourth in Group H with 4 points. Malta is 5th with one point. In their next game, Bulgaria will meet second-placed Italy at the Vasil Levski National Stadium on March 28, while Malta will face Azerbaijan.
