Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Bulgaria and Italy tied at 2-2
SOFIA, Mar. 28, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Bulgaria tied 2-2 with Italy (halftime: 2-1), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Saturday night at the Vasil Levski National Stadium in Sofia.
The Bulgarians started off well by taking the lead thanks to goals by I. Popov ('11) and Mitsanski ('17) while the Italians only scored once Y. Minev ('4 own). However, even though they were leading 2-1 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Italy with a saving goal from Éder in the 84th minute.
The result put the Italians second in Group H with 11 points. Bulgaria is fourth with 5 points. In their next game, Italy will meet group leaders Croatia at the Vasil Levski National Stadium on June 12, while Bulgaria will face Malta.
