TA' QALI, Jun. 12, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Bulgaria defeated Malta by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Friday night at the Ta' Qali National Stadium.
Malta made the Bulgarians doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by I. Popov in the 56th minute.
The result put the Bulgarians fourth in Group H with 8 points. Malta is bottom with one point. In their next game, Bulgaria will meet third-placed Norway at the Ta' Qali National Stadium on September 3, while Malta will face Italy.
