Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Italy defeats Malta 1-0
FLORENCE, Sep. 3, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Italy defeated Malta by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Thursday night at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Florence.
45 minutes of play and neither the Italians nor the Malteses have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Italian forward Graziano Pellè in the 69th minute.
The result put the Italians second in Group H with 15 points. Malta is bottom with one point. In their next game, Italy will meet Bulgaria at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on September 6, while Malta will face Azerbaijan.
