AVEIRO, Sep. 7, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Albania defeated Portugal by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Sunday night at the Aveiro Municipal Stadium.
Portugal made the Albanians doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Balaj in the 52nd minute.
The result put the Albanians second in Group I with 3 points. In their next game, Albania will meet group leaders Denmark at the Aveiro Municipal Stadium on October 11, while Portugal will face Denmark.
