Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Portugal beats Armenia 1-0
FARO, Nov. 14, 2014 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Portugal defeated Armenia by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Friday night at the Estádio Algarve in Faro.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo in the 72nd minute.
The result put the Portuguese second in Group I with 6 points. Armenia is bottom with one point. In their next game, Portugal will meet Serbia at the Estádio Algarve on March 29, while Armenia will face Albania.
