Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Denmark defeats Serbia 2-0
COPENHAGEN, Jun. 13, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Denmark defeated Serbia by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Saturday night at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen.
Denmark dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Yussuf Poulsen in the 13th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Danes further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Poulsen with just 3 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Dane second in Group I with 10 points. Serbia is fourth with 2 points. In their next game, Denmark will meet third-placed Albania at the Parken Stadium on September 4, while Serbia will face Armenia.
