Euro 2016 Qualifiers : Serbia beats Armenia 2-0
NOVI SAD, Sep. 4, 2015 (AMP) — France 2016 (Qualifiers) : Serbia defeated Armenia by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 UEFA European Championship on Friday night at the Karadjordje Stadium in Novi Sad.
Serbia dominated the first half as a result of the unfortunate own goal scored by Hayrapetyan in the 22nd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Serbians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Ljajić in the 53rd minute.
The result put the Serbians fourth in Group I with 5 points. Armenia is bottom with one point. In their next game, Serbia will meet third-placed Albania at the Karadjordje Stadium on October 8, while Armenia will face Denmark.
