Europa League 2014-15 : Villarreal defeats Red Bull Salzburg 2-1

VILLARREAL, Feb. 19, 2015 (AMP) — Europa League 2014-15 : Villarreal defeated Red Bull Salzburg by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in the first leg of a round of 32 game on Thursday night at the El Madrigal stadium in Villarreal.

Villarreal dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Nigerian forward Ikechukwu Uche in the 32nd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, El Submarino Amarillo further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Cheryshev in the 54th minute.

The second leg between Villarreal and Red Bull Salzburg will be played on Thursday February 26, 2015 (kick-off: 19:00) in Salzburg.
