Europa League 2014-15 : Besiktas beats Liverpool in shoot out to qualify for the Round of 16
ISTANBUL, Feb. 26, 2015 (AMP) — Europa League 2014-15 : Besiktas defeated Liverpool on penalties 5-4, after the match ended 1-0 in regulation time, in the second leg of a round of 32 game on Thursday night at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.
The score was still 1-0 at the end of the regulation game time and overtime, after Tolgay Arslan's only goal in the 72nd minute. The “Black Eagles” finally emerged the victors in the penalty shootout session by winning 5-4.
