Europa League 2015-16 : Sion beats Rubin Kazan 2-1

SION, Sep. 17, 2015 (AMP) — Europa League 2015-16 : Sion defeated Rubin Kazan by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Stade Tourbillon in Sion.

Konaté scored dual goals

Sion dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Konaté in the 11th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, Sion players further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Konaté with just 8 minutes remaining in regulation time.

The result put Sion top of Group B with 3 points. In their next game, Sion will meet second-placed Liverpool at the Stade Tourbillon on October 1, while Rubin Kazan will face Bordeaux.
