Europa League 2015-16 : Basel beats Fiorentina 2-1

FLORENCE, Sep. 17, 2015 (AMP) — Europa League 2015-16 : Basel defeated Fiorentina by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-1), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Florence.

Fiorentina had started off well by taking the lead in the 4th minute with a goal by Kalinić. Trailing 1-0 at half time, FCB nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Bjarnason '71 and Elneny '79).

The result put Basel top of Group I with 3 points. In their next game, Basel will meet second-placed Lech Poznań at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on October 1, while Fiorentina will face Belenenses.
