Europa League 2015-16 : Basel beats Belenenses 2-0

LISBON, Nov. 5, 2015 (AMP) — Europa League 2015-16 : Basel defeated Belenenses by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Estádio do Restelo in Lisbon.

Basel dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Janko Marc in the 45th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, FCB further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Embolo Breel in the 64th minute.

The result put Basel top of Group I with 9 points. Belenenses is bottom with 4 points. In their next game, Basel will meet second-placed Fiorentina at the Estádio do Restelo on November 26, while Belenenses will face Lech Poznań.
