Europa League 2015-16 : Basel hold Fiorentina to 2-2

BASEL, Nov. 26, 2015 (AMP) — Europa League 2015-16 : Basel tied 2-2 with Fiorentina (halftime: 1-2), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at St. Jakob-Park in Basel.

Fiorentina players started off well by taking the lead thanks to goals by Bernardeschi Federico ('23, '36) while Basel only scored once Suchy Marek ('40). However, even though they were leading 2-1 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Basel with a saving goal from Elneny Mohamed in the 74th minute.

The result put Basel top of Group I with 10 points. Fiorentina is second with 7 points. In their last game, Basel will meet third-placed Lech Poznań at St. Jakob-Park on December 10, while Fiorentina will face Belenenses.
