Europa League 2015-16 : Schalke 04 beats APOEL 3-0

NICOSIA, Sep. 17, 2015 (AMP) — Europa League 2015-16 : Schalke 04 defeated APOEL Nicosia by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar scored dual goals

Schalke 04 dominated the first half thanks to goals from Matip ('28) and Huntelaar ('35). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Royal Blues further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Huntelaar in the 71st minute.

The result put Schalke 04 top of Group K with 3 points. In their next game, Schalke 04 will meet second-placed Asteras Tripolis at the GSP Stadium on October 1, while APOEL Nicosia will face Sparta Prague.
