GELSENKIRCHEN, Nov. 26, 2015 (AMP) — Europa League 2015-16 : Schalke 04 defeated APOEL Nicosia by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen.

APOEL Nicosia made Schalke 04 doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Cameroonian forward Choupo-moting Maxim Eric with just 4 minutes remaining in regulation time.

The result put Schalke 04 top of Group K with 11 points. APOEL is bottom with 3 points. In their last game, Schalke 04 will meet third-placed Asteras Tripolis at the Veltins-Arena on December 10, while APOEL Nicosia will face Sparta Prague.
