Europa League 2015-16 : Bilbao beats Augsburg 3-1

BILBAO, Sep. 17, 2015 (AMP) — Europa League 2015-16 : Athletic Bilbao defeated Augsburg by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 0-1), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao.

Aritz Aduriz scored dual goals

Augsburg had started off well by taking the lead in the 15th minute with a goal by Turkish forward Halil Altıntop. Trailing 1-0 at half time, Los Leones nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring three times in the second period (Aduriz '55, '66 and Susaeta '90).

The result put Bilbao top of Group L with 3 points. In their next game, Athletic Bilbao will meet third-placed AZ Alkmaar at the San Mamés Stadium on October 1, while Augsburg will face Partizan Belgrade.
