Europa League 2016-17 : Fener defeats Man Utd 2-1

ISTANBUL, Nov. 3, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 : Fenerbahce defeated Manchester United by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in Istanbul.

Fenerbahce dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Sow Moussa in the 2nd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the “Canaries” further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Lens Jeremain in the 59th minute.

The result put Fener second in Group A with 7 points. Man Utd is third with 6 points. In their next game, Fenerbahce will meet Zorya Luhansk at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium on November 24, while Manchester United will face Feyenoord.
