Europa League 2016-17 : APOEL beats Astana 2-1

NICOSIA, Sep. 15, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 : APOEL Nicosia defeated FC Astana by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-1), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia.

FC Astana had started off well by taking the lead in the 45th minute with a goal by Maksimović. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the “Τhrylos” nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Vinícius '75 and de Camargo '87).

The result put APOEL top of Group B with 3 points. In their next game, APOEL Nicosia will meet second-placed Olympiacos at the GSP Stadium on September 29, while FC Astana will face Young Boys.
