Europa League 2016-17 : Anderlecht beats Mainz 05 6-1

ANDERLECHT, Nov. 3, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 : Anderlecht defeated Mainz by a big score of 6-1 (halftime: 2-1), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium in Anderlecht.

Stanciu Nicolae and Teodorczyk Lukasz scored dual goals

Anderlecht dominated the first half thanks to goals from Stanciu Nicolae ('9, '41). Leading 2-1 at the break, the “Purple and White” further widened their lead in the second period by scoring four times (Tielemans Youri '62, Teodorczyk Lukasz '89, '90/penalty and Bruno Massimo '90).

The result put Anderlecht top of Group C with 8 points. Mainz 05 is third with 5 points. In their next game, Anderlecht will meet Qabala at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium on November 24, while Mainz will face Saint-Etienne.
