Europa League 2016-17 : Zenit defeats Dundalk 2-1

SAINT PETERSBURG, Nov. 3, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 : Zenit St Petersburg defeated Dundalk by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Petrovsky Stadium in Saint Petersburg.

Giuliano Victor scored dual goals

Zenit St Petersburg dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Giuliano Victor in the 42nd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the “Blue-White-Sky Blues” further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Giuliano Victor in the 78th minute.

The result put Zenit top of Group D with 12 points. Dundalk is third with 4 points. In their next game, Zenit St Petersburg will meet second-placed Maccabi Tel Aviv at the Petrovsky Stadium on November 24, while Dundalk will face AZ Alkmaar.
