ALKMAAR, Dec. 8, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 : AZ Alkmaar defeated Zenit St Petersburg by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 2-0), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the AFAS Stadion in Alkmaar.
AZ Alkmaar dominated the first half thanks to goals from Rienstra Ben ('7) and Haps Ridgeciano ('43). Leading 2-0 at the break, Cheese Farmers further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Tankovic Muamer in the 68th minute.
