Europa League 2016-17 : Austria Vienna beats Giurgiu 3-2

BUCHAREST, Sep. 15, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 : Austria Vienna defeated Astra Giurgiu by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 2-1), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the National Arena in Bucharest.

Austria Vienna dominated the first half thanks to goals from Holzhauser ('16 on penalty) and Friesenbichler Kevin ('33). Leading 2-1 at the break, “Die Veilchen” further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Grunwald Alexander in the 58th minute.

The result put Austria Vienna top of Group E with 3 points. In their next game, Austria Vienna will meet second-placed Viktoria Plzen at the National Arena on September 29, while Astra Giurgiu will face AS Roma.
