Europa League 2016-17 : Giurgiu beats Viktoria Plzen 2-1

PLZEň, Oct. 20, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 : Astra Giurgiu defeated Viktoria Plzen by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Doosan Arena in Plzeň.

Astra Giurgiu dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Alibec Denis in the 41st minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the “Black Devils” further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Horava Tomas into his own net in the 64th minute.

The result put Giurgiu third in Group E with 3 points. Viktoria Plzen is bottom with 2 points. In their next game, Astra Giurgiu will meet Viktoria Plzen at the Doosan Arena on November 3, while Viktoria Plzen will face Astra Giurgiu.
