VIENNA, Nov. 24, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 : Astra Giurgiu defeated Austria Vienna by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna.

45 minutes of play and neither Astra Giurgiu nor Austria Vienna have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Florea Daniel ('79) and Budescu Constantin ('88 on penalty).

The result put Giurgiu second in Group E with 7 points. Austria Vienna is third with 5 points. In their last game, Astra Giurgiu will meet group leaders AS Roma at the Ernst Happel Stadium on December 8, while Austria Vienna will face Viktoria Plzen.
