Europa League 2016-17 : Genk beats Bilbao 2-0

GENK, Oct. 20, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 : Genk defeated Athletic Bilbao by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Luminus Arena in Genk.

Genk dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Brabec Jakub in the 40th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, Genk players further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Ndidi Onyinye with just 7 minutes remaining in regulation time.

The result put Genk top of Group F with 6 points. Bilbao is bottom with 3 points. In their next game, Genk will meet Athletic Bilbao at the Luminus Arena on November 3, while Athletic Bilbao will face Genk.
