Europa League 2016-17 : Rapid Vienna and Sassuolo play out 1-1 draw

VIENNA, Oct. 20, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 : Rapid Vienna tied 1-1 with Sassuolo (halftime: 1-0), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Allianz Stadion in Vienna.

Rapid Vienna players started off well by taking the lead thanks to Schaub Louis in the 7th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Sassuolo with a saving goal from Schrammel Thomas into his own net in the 66th minute.

The result put Sassuolo second in Group F with 4 points. Rapid Vienna is third with 4 points. In their next game, Sassuolo will meet third-placed Rapid Vienna at the Allianz Stadion on November 3, while Rapid Vienna will face Sassuolo.
