Europa League 2016-17 : Bilbao defeats Sassuolo 3-2

BILBAO, Nov. 24, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 : Athletic Bilbao defeated Sassuolo by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 1-1), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao.

Athletic Bilbao defender Mikel Balenziaga opened the score in the 2nd minute with an own goal, before seeing Athletic Bilbao catch up in the 10th minute thanks to Raúl García. 1-1 at half time. Los Leones eventually won the game in the second period with two more goals by Aduriz ('58) and Lekue Inigo ('79).

The result put Bilbao second in Group F with 9 points. Sassuolo is third with 5 points. In their last game, Athletic Bilbao will meet Rapid Vienna at the San Mamés Stadium on December 8, while Sassuolo will face Genk.
