Europa League 2016-17 : Ajax beats Panathinaikos 2-1

ATHENS, Sep. 15, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 : Ajax defeated Panathinaikos by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium in Athens.

Berg Marcus opened the score in the 5th minute, before seeing Ajax catch up in the 33rd minute thanks to Traore Bertnard. 1-1 at half time. The “Godenzonen” eventually won the game in the second period with with a goal by Riedewald Jairo in the 67th minute.

The result put Ajax top of Group G with 3 points. In their next game, Ajax will meet second-placed Standard Liege at the Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium on September 29, while Panathinaikos will face Celta Vigo.
