VIGO, Sep. 29, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 : Celta Vigo defeated Panathinaikos by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Balaidos Stadium in Vigo.

45 minutes of play and neither Celta Vigo nor Panathinaikos have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Guidetti John ('84) and Wass ('89).

The result put Celta Vigo second in Group G with 4 points. Panathinaikos is bottom with no points. In their next game, Celta Vigo will meet group leaders Ajax at the Balaidos Stadium on October 20, while Panathinaikos will face Standard Liege.
