Europa League 2016-17 : Ajax defeats Panathinaikos 2-0

AMSTERDAM, Nov. 24, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 : Ajax defeated Panathinaikos by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night.

Ajax dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Schone Lasse in the 40th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the “Godenzonen” further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Tete Kenny in the 50th minute.

The result put Ajax top of Group G with 13 points. Panathinaikos is bottom with one point. In their last game, Ajax will meet second-placed Standard Liege on December 8, while Panathinaikos will face Celta Vigo.
