Europa League 2016-17 : Celta Vigo and Liege play out 1-1 draw

VIGO, Nov. 24, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 : Celta Vigo tied 1-1 with Standard Liege (halftime: 1-0), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Balaidos Stadium in Vigo.

Celta Vigo players started off well by taking the lead thanks to Celta Vigo forward Iago Aspas in the 8th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Standard Liege with a saving goal from Laifis Kostas in the 81st minute.

The result put Liege second in Group G with 6 points. Celta Vigo is third with 6 points. In their last game, Standard Liege will meet group leaders Ajax at the Balaidos Stadium on December 8, while Celta Vigo will face Panathinaikos.
