Europa League 2016-17 : Shakhtar defeats Braga 2-0

LVIV, Sep. 29, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 : Shakhtar Donetsk defeated Braga by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Arena Lviv.

Shakhtar Donetsk dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Stepanenko Taras in the 5th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the “Hirnyky” further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Kovalenko Viktor in the 56th minute.

The result put Shakhtar top of Group H with 6 points. Braga is third with one point. In their next game, Shakhtar Donetsk will meet second-placed Gent at the Arena Lviv on October 20, while Braga will face Konyaspor.
