Europa League 2016-17 : Krasnodar defeats Nice 5-2

KRASNODAR, Sep. 29, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 : Krasnodar defeated Nice by a score of 5-2 (halftime: 2-1), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Kuban Stadium in Krasnodar.

Joaozinho Dos Santos and Ari Ferreira scored dual goals

Krasnodar dominated the first half thanks to goals from Smolov Fyodor ('22) and Joaozinho Dos Santos ('33). Leading 2-1 at the break, the “Bulls” further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Joaozinho Dos Santos '65/penalty and Ari Ferreira '86, '90).

The result put Krasnodar top of Group I with 6 points. Nice is bottom with no points. In their next game, Krasnodar will meet second-placed Schalke 04 at the Kuban Stadium on October 20, while Nice will face Red Bull Salzburg.
